Method of Application

M300 Antifouling is a product that has been designed to meet the demands of the majority; its application is thus relatively simple and complies with certain principles:

1- The M300 can be applied on any composite exterior hulls without a primer. You must simply follow a mechanical adhesion by sanding. The M300 can thus be applied directly on the gel-coat, but a prior application of an anti-osmosis treatment is recommended. For the exterior hulls made of wood, a suitable epoxy primer is required. For exterior hulls made of metal and for metallic components, we recommend using a classic antifouling paint for metal, since the M300 is not yet formulated to ensure the full effectiveness and longevity on this kind of support

2- If using a primer, it must be bi-component and perfectly hard and dry, especially if it is an epoxy primer.

3- The hull must be free of any defects or osmosis blisters.

4- The coat can be applied by means of a roller or a spray gun. Wearing a suitable protective mask, safety goggles and protective gloves is necessary, since a polyester composite is involved.

5- The M300 is packed in relatively small containers so that the entire kit may be prepared and applied consequently.

6- The copper powder must be completely integrated in the binder and mixed thoroughly before the hardener is added. This mixture must then be carefully mixed.

7- The application is single-layered and the M300 is dry to the touch in 1 hour at 20°C

8- A 12-hour hardening phase must be followed by a light sanding that will reveal the pure copper: use a 120 grit sandpaper once, followed by a 180 grit sandpaper the second time.

9- You can put the boat back in the water

Steps 1 to 8 are identical

9- For a finishing touch, continue abrading the surface in successive phases until you reach the 800 grit sandpaper and then use a polishing liquid applied to sheepskin or a flannel disc.

10- You may let it glide
